WILSON – A Wilson mother was charged with endangering the welfare of her children after Niagara County sheriff’s deputies found two unsupervised children had been riding their scooters in the street just before 10 a.m. on Monday.
Mary L. Wagner, 26, of Young Street denied leaving the children alone, but was charged after two women in the 400 block of Young Street said they did not see a parent in the area for at least 15 minutes. The woman said she stopped because she saw the children in the roadway and no parents in the area.
Deputies said at least one child told a witness that their mother was sleeping while they were outside playing.
