WHEATFIELD – Vandals throwing rocks are blamed for damages to a backhoe at Scott Lawn Yard on Shawnee Road.
The president of Scott Lawn Yard, Christine Miller, told Niagara County sheriff’s deputies Tuesday that sometime since Saturday someone cut a hole in the fence around the property at 6625 Shawnee Road where the equipment is stored and threw rocks at one of the backhoes.
Two large rocks were found inside the backhoe and three windows were broken, causing a total of $2,100 in damage. Damage to the fence was estimated at $100.
