NIAGARA FALLS – A 64-year-old woman is claiming self-defense after she allegedly stabbed a man in the stomach at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday in the 1600 block of Eighth Street.
Police said the two have a documented history of domestic violence against each other.
Valeria A. Alexander was charged with second-degree assault with a weapon, second-degree menacing and second-degree harassment.
According to police the victim was found with small lacerations to his stomach as well as puncture wounds and was highly agitated. He was taken to Erie County Medical Center for evaluation and treatment of his wounds.
Alexander told police that she also threw a wine glass at him in an effort to keep him away from her and said she wasn’t going to let him beat her again.
