NIAGARA FALLS – National Grid has awarded the city’s Community Development Department $148,000 in grants for improvements and marketing for the Third Street commercial district.
The funds, which the city applied for in April, include $143,000 for street lighting improvements on Third Street from Main Street to Cedar Avenue; an LED sign at Third and Main; and business façade rehabilitation.
The city also received a $5,000 matching grant for marketing commercial and real estate opportunities to the regional and international business communities.
