LOCKPORT – Nominations are due by July 11 for the 18th annual Niagara Awards, presented each year by the YWCA of Niagara to Niagara County women who make significant contributions to the community relating to the YWCA’s mission of empowering women and eliminating racism.
There are seven categories: art, education, entrepreneurs, health and human services, management, public service and “front line,” which means women who have the first contact with the public in an organization, such as receptionists or customer service personnel. Nomination forms are available at www.ywcaniagara.org.
The awards will be given at the YWCA’s “The 2014 Niagara Awards: A Tribute to Women” dinner at 5:45 p.m. Sept. 23 in the Conference Center Niagara Falls, 101 Old Falls Street. Tickets are $85, except for nominees, who are admitted free, and can be obtained by calling the YWCA at 433-6714.
