LOCKPORT – Probation was the sentence for three defendants who appeared Tuesday before Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon Farkas.
Krystal L. Conlan, 28, of River Road, Wheatfield, drew five years’ probation and fines and fees totaling $1,520 for felony driving while intoxicated. The April 1, 2013, arrest in Lewiston led to her third alcohol-related conviction. Farkas called on Conlan to recognize that she is an alcoholic and to avoid her former job as a bartender.
Cody J. Leathers, 20, of Lockport-Olcott Road, Newfane, was placed on three years’ probation for fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He had an illegal .38-caliber revolver June 5, 2012.
Brandon A. Flatt, 21, of West Avenue, Lockport, was placed on six months’ interim probation pending a final sentence for endangering the welfare of a child. With the consent of the victim’s family, Flatt was allowed to plead guilty to that misdemeanor after being charged with three counts of statutory rape of an underage girl in December 2012.
