NORTH TONAWANDA – The cities of North Tonawanda and Tonawanda have declared May as North Tonawanda Meals on Wheels Month. Throughout the entire month North Tonawanda Meals on Wheels will offer special activities on both sides of the canal to raise awareness and raise money for their services.
North Tonawanda Meals on Wheels is an independent program, which is not part of Meals on Wheels of Western New York. The North Tonawanda MOW serves both the City of North Tonawanda and the City of Tonawanda. Food preparation and offices are at 100 Ridge Road in North Tonawanda.
Throughout the month, information brochures and multicolored bookmarks are available in the public libraries of both communities and displays will be at the North Tonawanda Farmers’ Market on two Saturdays.
In the City of Tonawanda a hot dog sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on May 17 at Gander Mountain, 880 Young Street.
The celebration continues into June and July.
