WHEATFIELD – A man who told police he is homeless and living in his car was charged with driving while intoxicated Friday morning after being found passed out behind the wheel on River Road near Liberty Drive, according to reports.
Ronald D. Terry, 56, was arrested at 4 a.m. after snowplow drivers alerted sheriff’s deputies about a car illegally parked on River Road, with a person slumped over the steering wheel. Deputies said they awoke Terry, and that there was an open can of beer in the center console of his vehicle. Records checks found that his driver’s license was suspended for failure to answer a summons in Orange County, and he was also found to be wanted for forgery in Pennsylvania.
Local charges against Terry include DWI, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle on a highway and illegally parking on a highway.
