LOCKPORT – The Alzheimer Association’s WNY Chapter is offering a free workshop, “Conversations About Dementia,” from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the Dale Association, 33 Ontario St.
This program is designed to help individuals talk with family about some challenging and often uncomfortable subjects – Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.
Staff will discuss going to the doctor to get a diagnosis or medical care; deciding when it’s necessary to stop driving; and making plans for managing finances and legal documents to be sure the person’s wishes are carried out and the costs of future care are covered.
The program is free and open to the public, with registration strongly encouraged by calling 1 (800) 272-3900. Visit www.alz.com/WNY for more information about the organization.
