LOCKPORT – Two Niagara Falls sex offenders may draw prison sentences of up to four years after admitting probation violations Wednesday in Niagara County Court.
Zachary J. Lowman, 24, formerly of 87th Street, and Howard Harrison, 54, of 13th Street, made the admissions. County Judge Sara Sheldon Farkas is to sentence Lowman July 16 and Harrison Aug. 21.
Lowman admitted hiding a 17-year-old girl in his attic when a probation officer visited his home in late 2012. He was not supposed to have any contact with anyone under 18. He said the girl was his cousin, whom he was harboring after she ran away from Wyndham Lawn Home for Children in Lockport.
Lowman, who also used drugs several times in late 2012, absconded to Tennessee, where he served an 18-month federal sentence for interstate flight by a sex offender before being sent back to Niagara County in early May. His original crime was having sex with a 14-year-old girl in November 2011 after plying her with synthetic marijuana.
Harrison, who had sexual contact with a 16-year-old boy in November 2007, was flagged for violating the 1,000-foot buffer zone law for sex offenders on probation by taking a job at a business near Hutchinson Technical High School in Buffalo.
