LOCKPORT –A woman said a man she met on Facebook and allowed to stay in her house may be a suspect in the theft of nearly $2,000 worth of jewelry, sneakers and a 60-inch television.
The 28-year-old Sweetwood Drive woman told Niagara County sheriff’s deputies Tuesday that she discovered a heart-shaped jewelry box containing several gold and diamond chains, a silver chain and a gold ring, as well as two pairs of Nike sneakers and a 60-inch Sanyo television, were stolen. The total loss was $3,600.
She said a man she met on Facebook several weeks ago had stayed at her home twice in the past and stayed at her house the previous night. She said when she left for work he was still sleeping, but was gone when she returned home from work.
