LOCKPORT – The Lockport Common Council will hold a special meeting at 4:30 p.m. Monday.
Corporation Counsel John J. Ottaviano said Thursday the primary reason for the meeting was to approve a formal request to the Lockport Board of Education to let the city’s contractor use the campus of North Park Middle School as a staging area for the city’s July 4 fireworks, as usual. The School Board meets Wednesday and not again until after July 4, so the request can’t wait until the next regular Council meeting June 18.
Ottaviano said the Council also will be asked Monday to approve two grant applications sought by Planning and Development Director R. Charles Bell.
