NIAGARA FALLS – About 250 feet of copper pipe and other items were stolen from a vacant Michigan Avenue house during a break-in overnight Thursday, police said.
The house had been vacant for about two weeks and access was through a basement window, said police, who added that a hot-water tank, lawnmower and weed trimmer were also stolen. Police addded that the control panel of the furnace also was ripped out.
The owner, a Sanborn resident, estimated the loss at more than $3,000.
