LOCKPORT – A man who allegedly shot two brothers and their mother in the legs May 17 outside a Niagara Falls gas station pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Friday in Niagara County Court.

Rayquan M. Graham, 20, of Elmwood Avenue in the Falls, was indicted on two counts of first-degree assault and single counts of second-degree assault and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

The victims were a 50-year-old woman and her sons, ages 19 and 21. The young men apparently were feuding with Graham, police said at the time. Deputy District Attorney Doreen M. Hoffmann said one of the men was not wounded as badly as his brother, leading to a second-degree assault charge instead of the first-degree charges for the other victims.

County Judge Sara Sheldon Farkas held Graham without bail. Hoffmann said he has nine open files in Niagara Falls City Court, five of them felonies, including three bail-jumping counts. She also said she believes Graham poses “a danger to the witnesses,” one of whom found bullets on his porch.

Graham will receive a court-appointed attorney next Friday.
