TOWN OF HARTLAND – A Hartland couple told Niagara County sheriff’s deputies that early Thursday morning a group of five juveniles crossed back and forth on their property and was heard shaking a screen door on their porch in the 7500 block of Ridge Road.
The husband and wife told Niagara County sheriff’s deputies they were awakened that at 2:15 a.m. by noises outside and then heard someone shaking the door. The husband went downstairs to check and saw five young people flee from the scene on foot. A window was found partially pushed in, but no entry was made and nothing was damaged or stolen.
It is the second recent incident in the same area.
A burglary was reported between 8 p.m. Monday and noon Tuesday at the Cup and Saucer Restaurant at 7790 Ridge Road. An air conditioner was pushed in to gain entry and $70 and a chocolate pie were stolen.
