LEWISTON – A Sanborn man with a history of drunken driving was stopped by New York State Police on Route 429 Sunday and found to have a blood alcohol level of .21 percent, which is over twice the legal limit of .08 percent.

Zachery K. Barrand, 30, was charged by troopers with felony DWI for having a previous conviction within the past 10 years, aggravated DWI, driving a vehicle without an ignition interlock device and numerous vehicle and traffic violations.

Barrand was stopped in October 1, 2012 by Niagara County sheriff’s deputies after he crashed into a lawn at the corner of Lockport and Eagle Chase roads in Wheatfield and found with a blood alcohol level of .22 percent. He faced similar charges at that time because he also had a previous conviction and was operating without an ignition interlock device.
