School board deserves praise
I would like to express my gratitude to our school board members for all the time and effort you have put in working to return Niagara Wheatfield to excellence. The many difficult decisions you have made show how seriously you take the task at hand.
Through these decisions, it is evident that your number one priority is the student body and how to continue to provide them with a wonderful and diversified education. What benefits the students benefits the community, now and into the future.
It is our responsibility to cultivate a well rounded and progressive educational environment so that our children will be able to compete in today’s job market. I trust in your guidance of our district and continue to offer my support.

Letter carriers’ drive helps food pantries
On Saturday, May 10, 2014, Western New York will participate in the annual National Association of Letter Carrier’s “Stamp Out Hunger” food drive. Local letter carriers will collect non-perishable food donations, which are then distributed directly to local food pantries. The Divine Mercy Food Pantry, located on Niagara Street in Niagara Falls, services one of the City’s most needy areas. The number we serve continues to rise each year. The generous donations of food received from this food drive will help us meet that need.
It is easy to help us, by simply bagging non-perishable food items and placing them by your mailbox. Your letter carrier will then pick them up and take them for immediate distribution to local pantries.
We invite you to join in this great day of giving and we thank all the postal carriers for their help in making this event a success. May God bless you for your support and generosity.
