LOCKPORT – A formal inaugural ceremony for new Lockport Mayor Anne E. McCaffrey will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Historic Palace Theatre, 2 East Ave.
The ceremony also will include the swearing-in of Alderman Joseph C. Kibler, R-at large, as the new Council president.
The Council will hold a work session at 5 p.m. in City Hall before driving three blocks to the theater.
McCaffrey, who had been Council president, officially became mayor last Friday, when Michael W. Tucker resigned. She appointed Kibler to succeed her as Council president, who in Lockport also is the deputy mayor.
