A rally against military use of drones will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday outside the main entrance to the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station on Lockport Road.
The event, dubbed “Jobs for Life and Not for Death,” is being organized by a group called No Drones Niagara.
“It is the opinion of the members of No Drones Niagara that jobs which facilitate the killing of civilians and international lawbreaking are not jobs worth having,” the group said in a news release.
Last year, the federal government decided the Air National Guard’s 107th Airlift Wing at the Falls base would get a new mission involving directing the unmanned aircraft, a move that would preserve jobs at the military installation.
